The release you’ve all been waiting for…

June is an exceptionally special month for Quin Wines

We don’t like to do anything by halves, so in true Quin style, this month we release the entire Quin Wines collection of new vintage wines, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the quality and consistency of these wines.

Our new vintage releases include the 2018 Eden Valley Shiraz, 2018 Eden Valley Riesling, 2018 Barossa Valley Grenache and 2017 Barossa Valley Shiraz.

Explore our new release wines below and pick yourself up a bottle to test out the beauty of our new vintages for yourself.

2018 Eden Valley Riesling

We take quite a unique approach to our Riesling winemaking to ensure we create a wine that leaps for the stars. 50% of this wine was treated like a red on arrival to the winery, with fruit destemmed and the juice remaining on skins for seven days. Pressing occurred at 2 Baume and then fermented in stainless steel on full solids. The remaining 50% however, was treated traditionally and the two components came together for five months of maturation in oak. The result… a wine without boundaries!

Nose – Fresh ginger, passionfruit and lime.

Palate – Great balance of acidy/sweetness, persistent texture and vibrant flavour profile.

2018 Eden Valley Shiraz

Our 2017 Eden Valley Shiraz went flying off the shelves and was sold out in record time, so we’re thrilled to release this new vintage for your enjoyment! This wine embodies complex flavours and aromas, with considered fermentation followed by ten months spent in seasoned French oak before blending and bottling in January 2019.

Stock your cellar with this beauty, we’re confident this will be another sell-out success!

Nose – Sarsaparilla, mulberries, tea leaf and fresh vanilla bean.

Palate – Great tannin focus through the middle, flavours of red fruits and earth.

2018 Barossa Valley Grenache

Our 2018 Barossa Valley Grenache fruit was hand harvested into two separate components to create a uniquely ‘Quin’ approach. One half was 100% whole bunch fruit that was direct tipped into open-top fermenters, while the other was 50% whole bunch with the remainder destemmed into the open top fermenter. After four weeks on skins the two components were pressed together to create something beautiful, that continued to develop and evolve in French oak over the next eight months.

Nose – Green peppercorn, dried green spices, black slate and strawberry liqueur.

Palate – Mid palate filled with strawberries and raspberries, surrounded by an envelope of spices that mirror the nose.

2017 Barossa Valley Shiraz

Similarly to our Eden Valley Shiraz, this Barossa Shiraz was one of our personal favourites, and clearly one of yours too as this sold out due to popular demand. 10% was hand harvested and direct tipped into an open top fermenter for whole bunch fermentation, while the remainder was harvested in the cool of the morning and then destemmed into an open top fermenter. After substantial time spent on skins, we moved the wine to seasoned French oak before blending in September where it then went on to mature in oak for a total of twenty months.

In life, we believe in the simple – in wines, we believe in the complex, and this wine certainly encompasses our philosophy to its fullest.

Nose – Blueberry, blackberry and red currant.

Palate – Soft round palate with layers of rich fruit.

These wines are representative of who we are at Quin Wines and individually, they embody everything we want our wines to be known for. We sincerely hope you enjoy our new vintage release of our Quin Wines collection!

And while we don’t want to take away from the excitement of these new releases, we have a new addition to Quin Wines later this month, one that we’re confident you’ll love.

Watch this space…

Andrew & Skye Quin
